I just ran a utility that scans for 32-bit apps, and it found this:
Listing of all apps which are 32-bit only in the folder /Applications:
/Applications/DEVONthink Pro.app/Contents/PlugIns/OCRPlugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/DEVONscribbler.app
Does this actually belong to ABBYY?
Yes, the used Abbyy engine supports only 32-bits. A future upgrade will include a 64-bit version.
I am getting noticed that DevonThink will stop working after Mojave. The same thing with my Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M which I use for DTPO. Will DTPO be updated before the next OS is released? Also, do you know anything about the ScanSnap?

There will be definitely an update of the OCR engine before the release of macOS 10.15.
Do we know about ScanSnap S1500M? That is what I use with DTPO.

I’d suggest to contact Fujitsu.
Apparently the S1500M is declared obsolete by Fujitsu, which is a bummer, since I also own one.
But there are third-party drivers and solutions which are here to help: Software like Vuescan and Exactscan are made to support old scanners, and the S1500(M) is supported. Take a look. This might be a good workaround to keep your scanner on future macOS releases.
I also have Vuescan already. I bought it for use with my negative/slide scanner. I didn’t consider it might work for my ScanSnap.
Using the ScanSnap application, I scan directly into my DTPO inbox. Would I need to perform multiple steps with Vuescan?

You should not do this. You should be scanning to the default location suggest by the ScanSnap software or ~/Pictures.
When I installed DTPO, it set up the “Scan to DevonThink” option within the ScanSnap software. That configuration also shows the DevonThink icon.
The last time I installed DTPO was in 2013. I guess I’ll know for sure when I install it again in a few days for my new 2019 iMac… but does DTPO still create the “Scan to DevonThink” profile in the ScanSnap application?

Thank you for the info. I am still using the legacy ScanSnap application. Do you know if the new ScanSnap Home app supports the S1500M? Secondary question: Do you know if ScanSnap Home has been updated to a 64b application yet?

Scansnap Home is 64-bit, but scanner compatibility would be a Fujitsu question.
ScanSnap home is a 64-bit application and it does not support the S1500M. I have had the S1500M for years and it starting behaving erratically so I decided it was time to get a new one. I ended up getting the iX1500 and I discovered on installation that it removed the legacy ScanSnap app and replaced it with ScanSnap home leaving me with no ScanSnap support for my old S1500M.
My plan was to keep my S1500M connected to my desktop computer and put the new iX1500 on the network in a different room (not USB connected) for easier access for daily scanning of paperwork. The iX1500 can scan to DevonThink to any number of computers on the network but those computers must have ScanSnap Home installed.
Occasionally, if I’m sitting at my desk and want to use the old S1500M and I just use Vuescan for that.

Thank you for the update. Are you satisfied with the IX1500? I read reports that were mixed, especially on the wireless stability and the user interface of ScanSnap Home.
I ordered an IX1500 for replacement for my aging S1500M. I figured that I wont be using ScanSnap Home directly very often given that my primary usage is for scanning into DTPO. Very occasionally, i will scan a photograph, but that is rare because I’ve already scanned my many thousands of negatives, slides and prints. I just don’t acquire many prints anymore.
I am curious about the stability of the wireless interface. It is hard to tell from Amazon ratings exactly what problems people had… and even what platform they are using. I just bought a new iMac and I want to de-clutter down to just the applications I use often and to remove as many legacy apps as possible

I can’t speak to the iX500 (or your environment specifically), but the iX100 works very well wirelessly. I would imagine issues people on Amazon have may be more environmental than hardware related.
