A document with "die:" in the title is neither found by a search including "die" nor "die*"

Current problematic behaviour

The webarchive in the attached zip is not found when searching for (a)

kind:webarchive docTitle:The Theory That Would Not die

(“die” without anything)

nor when search for (b)

kind:webarchive docTitle:The Theory That Would Not die*

(“die” with an asterisk)

but only when searching for

kind:webarchive docTitle:The Theory That Would Not

(no word “die”)

or

kind:webarchive docTitle:The Theory That Would Not die:

(“die” with a colon)

Expected behaviour:

I would have thought “:” separate words, so search (a) should find the document. Elsewise if “:” is not a word separator at least the search (b) should work.

NOT is an operator, therefore you’re looking for titles without die. You could try… kind:webarchive docTitle:"The theory that would not die" instead.

Doh! This caught me a few times! Should have noticed myself.

Works without the “not”.
