A problem with the sorter

When I’m doing research in a browser and want to use the sorter to save the information, I can do it through the browser extension, or through the sorter from the menu bar in the Finder.
If I click on the extension within the browser, then I am presented with the usual options in the export formats.
I can then:

  • Bookmark
  • Formatted note
  • Html page
  • Markdown
  • Web archives
  • PDF (One Page)
  • PDF (Paginated)


If I select the sorter via the Finder menu some formats are missing and I can only:

  • Plain text
  • RTF text
  • Formatted note
  • Markdown


To my recollection, the Finder’s sorter was the same as the browser extension’s. However, if it has always been that way - and I just didn’t notice it - why is there this difference at all?

The first screenshot shows the Take Note tab of the Sorter, the second one the Clip to DEVONthink tab which is automatically selected by browser extensions.
