About that new database format in 2.0 ...

Well, that makes DT and Scr. superior to the Finder and Scr. for creating and maintaining external links!! I have yet to try this myself, but will soon. This is truly what I’ve been waiting for. Dt for warehousing my research material and Scr. for the rest! I couldn’t be happier.

Not happy yet with smart groups in DT. They’ve been glitchy so far, but I’m patient. Once I have tagging and smart groups working, I’ll truly have it all for my purposes. For now, just having this linking/reference capability with DT is huge.

I’m relieved I don’t normally want/have to, like with iTunes and iPhoto storage (other than knowing there’s enough free space).

DT document replicants could be emulated with filesystem hard links, although group replicants could be problematic because of directory hard links limitations (which are mostly a hack to support Time Machine).
