Acrobat and DT importing

a strange thing happened… if I open the same file with Preview on my Macbook (my second computer) everything works!
on my MB no Acrobat only Preview and Acrobat reader…

… Which leads to the obvious question: What are the differences between the two machines? Are they running the same version of macOS? Intel vs. Apple Silicon? Anything else?

macbook, last Intel, Sonoma
Imac, m1, sequoia

If it’s on the internet archive, could you provide a link? That might help us figure it out.

thanks

How did you get a PDF from that? It’s telling me that there is no PDF available even after I borrow it.

is there a torrent somewhere…

You would make it a lot easier to help you (you are looking for help, aren’t you?), if you provided the relevant information upfront and in a way that others can actually use (without becoming a member of whatever or paying for whatever).
Just post a link to the PDF you have trouble with. It’s not that difficult.
If you don’t do that, how do you expect people to reproduce the issue?

actually it was my first post…
anyway, here is the link to the complete file

Actually – not. Your first post were just two images.

Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce it. I thought for a moment it might be related to dark mode, but I didn’t see a problem either. I tried

MBP M3 Sequoia 15.1.1: Looked correct in Preview and DT, light and dark mode
MBP M1 Sonoma 14.7: Looked correct in Preview and DT, light and dark mode

thanks to everybody, dont wait your time for it!
strangely my experience is that everything work on Intel and on M1 doesn’t work on Preview but it works on Acrobat Reader or Acrobat…

Airdropped it to my Sequoia Mac and dropped it into a database…

But also…

As to why? No idea yet.

@amelchi: Did you remove that link already??

no

I downloaded from the link above and dropped it into a DT database. Below are my screenshots. I’m surprised Bluefrog was able to produce the same issue, as mine are showing just fine. I noticed both of you have black backgrounds in the pdf in the Preview app & DT. Is that only showing on this PDF that way? Is it a plugin or accessibility change? I tried forcing dark mode and inverting colors under Accessibility settings. I am unable to replicate the black background & font blur/shadow issue. I even ran ABBYY OCR and the images didn’t blur. Wish I could offer more help.

Using Sequoia 15.1.1

It’s odd indeed. Mine is a very clean Mac too.

perhaps it has to do with Acrobat? on my M1 I have Acrobat installed and it produce the problem on Preview, on my Intel no Acrobat, no problem…

No Acrobat over here, it looks fine on one M1 Mac (Ventura) but not on two other Intel & M1 Macs (Sequoia). Maybe it depends on the installed fonts?
