Adding tags in "Add to Devonthink" and drag-and-drop to Dock

I often use the “Add to Devonthink” service from the Mac finder to input files from my hard drive into DT, but wondering if there is any way to get its pop-up window to prompt for tags, the way it prompts for the group to store the file in. Ditto for when I drag a file onto the DT icon in the Mac’s Dock…
This would be VERY useful, since I now have to remember to search for the file once it arrives in DT, and add tags there…

When you add a file to DEVONthink using the methods your described, DEVONthink picks up whatever Finder tags you have assigned. So you could add your tags before dragging the file to the Dock or using the DEVONthink Share Action.

If you have DEVONthink Pro Office you can keep the Server running and in a Safari Tab, then use the Upload Document tool to add files directly to the groups you chose in your database in the Server’s sidebar. That will start a dialog where you can give the uploaded document tags, a comment, and rename it if you wish. It’s a nice feature.

Thanks – I didn’t know about the Server in Pro Office (which is what I have) which should prove useful for other reasons.
But the Server, just like adding tags in the Mac finder, doesn’t prompt me with tags I’ve already got in my database, right, the way I get prompted when tagging a new item within the DT application? I have so many hundreds of tags in my database that there’s no way I can remember them all, and it’s important that I only use standardized tags I’ve established in DT, or my tagging will descend into confusion!
So looks like I have to just continue with what I’ve been doing: Adding files into DT via Services or dragging to the Dock or Sorter, then adding tags once they are in DT.
Couldn’t DT add a tagging prompt to either of those, just as it does with the “Clip to DEVONthink” bookmarklet? Would sure be useful…
