Adjust smart rule "Today" - exclude News Feeds

Hi,
I recently re-visited Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann’s youtube video of his Zoom Meetup with Tinderbox users.
That triggered me to revisit my use of feeds in Devonthink.

I also make extensive use of the smart group “Today”, since this one, for me, makes it the easiest way to rapidly locate a recently added file or whatnot.

Now my recent adding a lot of my feeds to Devonthink obviously caused all these feeds to show up in the “Today” smart group results.
Question:
How do I need to adjust this smart rule to ignore / exclude feeds?
I tried the following, but it does not work.

How does one exclude?

Thanks for helping out!

An RSS article is News.
A feed is the source of the news.
Therefore, you’d use Kind is not News.

If you wanted to filter both, hold the Option key and create a subcriterion with Kind is not News and Kind is not Feed.

That’s a really neat video as well - two of the ultimate experts in DT and Tinderbox demonstrating together - really worthwhile.

Thanks a ton for answering! I was not aware of the Option key to create compound predicates.

I think this is what you mean?

A difference I see now is that:

  • before => there were no tags
  • after => plenty of tags (even tags I’m not aware of that I created)

I do remember long time ago there was some setting to convert ?? to tags (from Feeds or News?)

Yes, that’s correct. And while subcriteria isn’t technically required, it (1) keeps things orderly and (2) is a good thing to know about.

Regarding the tags, disable Settings > RSS > Convert categories to tags.
