One question: what does checking the boxes in the Local databases section do when linking different iOS devices via Bonjour
{I want to restrict my iPhone to a superficial sync; but download them on the iPad)
see screenshot
The process of syncing required quite some attention to detail and reading the manual carefully.
Linking via Cloud Kit was easy
Bonjour was another story ~ initially Worked repaired all BDs on the ‘server’ Mac to ensure all DBs were verified and checksumed (!) then - being clear which Mac is to act as the server, NOT creating a new location , then , sorting our Bonjour on the server (resetting the Bonjour password to confirm it is consistent); being pedantic that Bonjour was linking to the other device; having the DBs open, , , resetting the Bonjour password , essentially doing back to basics
Each step a little closer, then realising that the Bonjour connected MBP is identified as a separate location on the server (iMac) but that the iOS devices are needed/ was recognised as a separate Location on the server
took quite a few hours over numerous days but I think I have cracked it - sync’d BDs as needed between the iMac, MPB, iPad and iPhone
what a system DT is !!
loving DT4 btw , just getting deeper and deeper into it (over the years)
We’re happy to hear you’re enjoying working with our apps!
Regarding sync, you should not have Bonjour enabled in DEVONthink To Go. DEVONthink is acting as the Bonjour server. This is covered in the In & Out > Sync:Bonjour section of DEVONthink’s and DEVONthink To Go’s Sync > Sync:Bonjour sections of their built-in Help and manuals.
