My database consists entirely of indexed groups, and my annotation file setting is to save the annotation in the same group as the original file. When I move an indexed file within DT from one indexed group to another within the database, whether by drag-and-drop or Cmd-Ctrl-M, the annotation file does not automatically move with it. My General Settings for annotation files are “Save in same group” and “Move annotations automatically”.
I’ve found a number of posts here about similar issues (which seem to have been resolved), but they all seem to be about moving files or groups between databases rather than between groups within a single database. Does the “Move annotations automatically” setting only affect moves between databases? Surely moving files between groups is a much more common action, and if you’re saving the annotation file in the same group it stands to reason that you would want it to move with the original file.
