Annotation smart group suddenly appeared in my inbox

I was indeed working on annotations. I would like to know what triggered the creation of the smart group.
When I drag and drop annotations into the inbox ?

There’s no automagically created “Annotations” Smart Group.

If you create an annotation then a “Annotations” group is created in the database’s root.
