Hi Folks:
I’ve found the annotations support in the ‘annotations and reminders’ pane to be very useful. When working with a document ( my questions assume PDF ) in DTTG I find it easier to use the ‘note’ option rather than navigate to the associated annotation file. My questions are the following:
-
After making a note in DTTG an icon appears along side the commented selection. When I go to view the annotations in the ‘document pane’ the icon doesn’t appear on the PDF document unless I modify the content of the note in the details section. Is this expected behavior ?
-
Is there a way to ‘export’ the notes taken in this way from the annotation view in the ‘documents’ pane ?
-
Are there any recommended ways to unify these two sets of annotations for further study ?
Thanks
Screencaps would be helpful.
DT3 3.9.8
DTTG 3.8.9
Sequoia 15.3.1
Thanks for this. I can definitely ‘select all’ annotations in the Document Inspector view and drag them to create a plain text document. I don’t see a way to create a sheet from this, open the document with Numbers, and save that as a CSV and drag it back to DT. This is a workable solution, is there a more direct way that you know of ?
Sorry, next release will produce a sheet

There is also Tools > Summarize Annotations > as Rich Text/Markdown/Sheet
PS: If you prefer the annotation file, are you aware that in DTTG you can open the annotation from an item’s Info Popover?

Thank you @troejgaard - this is excellent and does everything I want.
wrt the ‘annotation file’ I have used it but find the more ‘inline’ note option easier to use.
Thanks for the pointers.
