Is there any way to control the quality of the resultant image when adding the filename to the image using the Imprinter tool?
A high-resolution jpg (3.7 MB) from a scanner, saved in Photoshop Elements at Medium quality (5), was 310 KB. In DTP I used the Imprinter to add the file name to the image, and it more than doubled in size, to 659 KB. Adding the filename manually in Elements adds only 7 KB to the 310 KB image. For a single image it’s trivial, but when you have 20 images to merge into a pdf, it means the difference between 10 MB and 20 MB, and adding file names to 20 images manually in Elements (or in the final pdf) is tedious.
I can only assume that DTP is saving the imprinted image at a significantly higher quality level. Is there any way to control this? I couldn’t find anything in the manual about it, and searching here in the forums turned up nothing relevant (though it could be I just haven’t hit on the right search terms).
