I’m using DT Pro Office with Scansnap. Sometimes I need to do OCR, but often I don’t (and would rather not use all that memory and time to process).
I’ve been changing it by going into prefs, and checking or unchecking that option to change it. Is there an easier way to do this? (If not, consider this a suggestion!)… thanks.
If often you don’t why save yourself the trouble and disable the preference. Then when you need to OCR you can convert the document to a searchable PDF.
ok- thanks. Sounds like that may be the simplest approach.
Does this require scanning the original at higher DPI setting upfront “in case” we want OCR? If we know we don’t want OCR, a lower DPI setting should be used?
That all depends on what you want to do with it. But if you’re not sure currently but may want to run OCR at some time in the future, use at least 300 dpi for best OCR results.
