append items/split items

When I have made a number of notes in the outliner mode, and put them in a certain sequence, it is possible to export them, but they remain separate documents . If working on a text, I would like to create one document (or: append the separate files to the first one), in the sequence I put them in. Is that possible, and if not, would it be something you might consider to implement?  ;D

Less important but useful: In some cases, I would like to split a note into two, at the cursur-point; one can always cut and paste, but this would be more effective.  :

A merge command and a merge view will be added to v1.8 but splitting is not that likely at the moment.
