Apple Mail PDF Attachments only open in "Text Alternative" - not "Best Alternative" view

No matter how I get emails in to Devonthink Pro (3.9.7), the PDF attachments in the emails won’t open if I double click the attachment when in “Best Alternative” view (default).

If I switch to “Text Alternative” view though in the preview window, the attachment becomes a text link which DOES open the attachment.

Surely it should also open by clicking the icon in Best Alternative view?

The Best Alternative is based on Quick Look which doesn’t support this unfortunately.
