Applescript show Recent files

I am not familiar with AppleScripting enough to know how to do what I need to do. Is there anyone who may be so kind as to offer a script? I need a working script to find recent files that were opened or modified, start with one day. Once I understand It I can modify that to include one week, one month, etc.

Of course I am wanting to have this script work form the Applescript menu in DevonThink. My DTPO database uses indexed files.

Before looking for a script – how about a Smart Group? One could spend a lot of time scripting a report that uses the same data that the Smart Group uses.
