Archiving emails takes more than 24 hrs?

Hello,

I’ve archiving my emails to DT since many years.
While this process always took hours, this time, it seems much slower.

At the moment, I am archiving a Gmail mailbox with 39.000 mails and about 2GB of size.
The process started 24hours ago, progress bar says 50% done and another 11 hours to go.

Is there anything I can do to optimize this?

It is also confusing that DT shows in Activity Monitor as not responding, while I know from experience that it usually finishes some time - but 36 hours?

Thanks,
Peter

In case of e.g. IMAP/Gmail accounts the speed depends on the Internet connection and whether the emails are completely locally cached. In addition, did you install the plugin for Apple Mail?

The plugin is installed.
I’m sitting in the building of an ISP w/ xx Gbit connectivity.
I’ve set Apple Mail to download all attachements (and never delete them).

Are things less complex when importing from a local mailbox / folder within Apple Mail?

Thanks!

Then it shouldn’t be that slow. Could you please launch Apple’s Activity Monitor application (see Applications > Utilities), choose DEVONthink while (!) archiving emails in the list of processes, select the menu item View > Sample Process and send the result to cgrunenberg - at - devon-technologies.com? A sample of Apple Mail might be useful too. Thanks!

A local mailbox should be definitely much faster.
