Doing some Database maintenance incl. backups…
I noticed the system database backup for which the Menu contains only the Restore Backup entry (because the backup part is automatic I guess) plus the script Daily Backup Archive with creates these neat ZIP files.
My question: What’s the difference between the two and which one should I prefer?
DEVONthink automatically backs up only important metadata & index files. Only File > Export > Database Archive… (or the above script) exports a complete backup including files.

Quick follow up about Indexed locations: Does their content get backed up with the archive script as well?
No. Indexed files are external so your normal backups should be taking care of that.
