I am using DEVONthink 4 and have set up a folder to be monitored via indexing. Unfortunately, new files added to this folder, such as those from a scanner, are not automatically detected. Instead, I have to manually update the indexed items by navigating to File > Update Indexed Items.
I would appreciate any advice on how to enable automatic detection of new files in the indexed folder.
Is this a just created database? In this case closing and reopening the database or relaunching DEVONthink 4 should fix this. The next release will fix this issue.
And is this a folder on a network volume or controlled by a cloud service, e.g., iCloud Drive you’ve indexed? If so, manually updating may be required as filesystem events may not be reliably made.
This should not be the case, as I already closed and opened the database and or DEVONthink multiple times.
I use Synology Drive to sync files into the folder after scanning. Could this be the reason? its a bit strange because this method worked very stable and without bugs throughout years. Is. there a way to check if a filesystem event is made?
Is the indexed group updated after adding a file to the folder in the Finder?
no unfortunately not. I have to start the update manually
Does restarting DEVONthink or rebooting the computer make a difference? What’s the path of the indexed folder?
Sry for the late reply! No unfortunately restarting or closing the database did not solve the problem.
Does updating to 4.0.1 make a difference?
It looks like there could be a difference! I’ll observe this …
