Automatically generate alias based on naming convention

I have some files following the naming convention of LCSH subdivisions. For example “Nanjing Normal University (Geographical subdivision)-IELTS Scholarship (Topical Subdivision)-2024 Spring Semester (Chrological Subdivision)-Application Form (Form Subdivision)”. Is there anyway I can automatically extract these “keywords”, categorizing them into each custom metadata, and turn them into an alias?

I use an applescript to assist with processing my Inbox records
The script could do this automatically

  • This is a real filename?

  • Are you referring to the parenthetical words as “keywords”?

  • Do you want to remove them from the name (hopefully) ?

  • The appear to be useful as tags or custom metadata, not aliases. Please clarify their purpose.
