Beta 5: Editing web archive deletes file

  • Added a web archive using the bookmarklet.
  • Delete a few graphic images and save the file.
  • Size = 0 bytes and message displayed instead of the document:
    “File Missing: (path to file)”

Any one else see this?

I couldn’t reproduce it. Do you have an example URL that editing its captured web archive has the problem?

I reported this on May 22nd. I supplied a couple examples – mind you I was saving as Webarchive from DEVONagent, but alas this bug has something to do with a Safari 4 beta bug. Christian Grunenberg says it’s expected to be fixed in the next beta. I’ve documented this in the form of using the new webarchive highlighting (also an edit) is affecting webarchives by truncating the file.
