That works fine - including from the navigation sidebar.
The only time I tried just now that it did not trigger was with a folder with a very large set of contents - but that is not what I will be using it for anyway.

Triggered scripts are still supported but only to maintain compatibility to older databases, for new databases & workflows smart rules & reminders are highly recommended instead.
