Wow. Talk about broken by design.

It might (!) perhaps (!) be possible to do something with a Scriptlet. But that would require more information on the relationship between the popup and its parent.

Thanks for all who have offered help. It does indeed seem like Microsoft has made this overly difficult.

I have come up with two working solutions.

The simplest solution is a free plug-in for Outlook OWA called KmailPrint which creates a PDF from an email. Then I can save that PDF in DT3.

Alternatively the Evernote web clipper is able to handle the popup email window. While that works, as far as I can figure out so far there are more steps to go from that to DT3 compared with using KmailPrint.
