Can we have optional entry checksums?

I’d like to be to enable a performance-killing feature that checksums entries whenever they are imported into a database, or saved after modification. Then, ten years later, I can know with certainty if all my entries are exactly as they once were. This feature is so important to me that I’ve cobbled together shell scripts to do it for static entries, but of course it doesn’t work for that that DT itself modifies through editing.

What is it that “DT itself modifies through editing” – I’ve not experienced DT changing documents by itself.

Just an ignorant bystander’s question - but to ensure data integrity why not just archive your database offline in a secure location, from time to time?

I meant, when you edit a file that’s within your database.

This is no protection against bit-rot.
