Canon RS40 and DEVONthink

I am considering buying a Canon RS40 photo and document scanner primarily for the photo scanning functionality but with the upside that it is a document scanner as well.

I have never had a scanner integrated with my DT-workflow; I have scanned and then imported or dragged into DT.

Will a Canon such as RS40 be able to scan directly to DT or is that a function reserved for the Fujitsu and later scanners only?

Every scanner that is compatible to macOS’ Image Capture.app should also work with DEVONthink.
