Can't Remove Favourites (macOS)

If I remove a ‘Favourite’ from the left-hand side bar in the macOS app (using the contextual menu ‘Remove From Favorites’), it nevertheless reappears there when DEVONthink is re-launched.

I can remove all of them, but they all pop up there again once DEVONthink is quit and relaunched. They’re sort of ‘stuck’ there.

This was already discussed here…

However, we have not been able to reproduce the issue so far.

Well here’s one reproduction of the issue at any rate — if it’s the same issue and the offending files are making favourites of their enclosing databases.

All I can do I suppose is to hope that the characteristic(s) of these offending files inside my favourite databases might in time be identified, as I can’t systematically go through the thousands of files in each database to find them.

It’s unclear what you’re talking about here.

What specifically is favorited and reappearing?

I have some whole databases as favourites. When they’re removed as favourites, they nevertheless reappear as favourites on re-launching the app.

If the other person was right in thinking that some (as yet unidentified) characteristics of certain files were preventing permanent removal, then I was guessing that I may well have those types of file within those favourite databases, and perhaps they were preventing the whole database-favourite from being removed. Of course I don’t know if that’s right (but there again, we don’t know what’s preventing the removal of favourites anyway).

You favorited the database. That is an entity on its own so you’re not making favorites of the documents inside it. I suspect it’s a filesystem thing. What OS are you running?

Ah, I see. Sequoia 15.7.2 (24G325).
