Can't Setup Sync Location

I keep getting the following error when trying to setup an iCloud (CloudKit) sync location on my iPad. It’s working okay on Mac and iPhone.

These troubles come immediately after I logged out of my iCloud account on my iPad. I have tried deleting the app and restarting the device but to no avail. What to try next?

Presumably Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > DEVONthink is on?

Indeed it is.

That’s a shame. Presumably you are able to access other parts of iCloud on your iPad? So via the Files app, synchronisation of the calendar app and so on?

While they’re logged out of their account? Hopefully not. Not to be too picky, but what is the point of logging out of iCloud and then expecting iCloud to sync? Sync with what exactly?

Enable iPadOS’ Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Drive.

I read that as “logged out and back in again”, presumably to solve some other problem.

But wouldn’t they still have to be logged into their iCloud account to make iCloud Drive work?

Indeed.
I guessed the user also logged out and back in. @Wseries ?

Yes of course. Universal Control between my MacBook Pro and iPad stopped working and the most effective troubleshooting technique I’ve found is to log out of my iCloud account on my iPad, restart and then log back in.

Anyway I just updated the iPad to iOS 15.7 and I’ve now been able to connect to the iCloud (CloudKit) sync location. Happy days. Thanks for your advice regardless gentlemen.
