We are working in a mixed environment Windows / OS X.
Would it be conceivable to enable DT server mode and enhance server mode and the “Clip to DEVONthink” add-on to be able to clip to the DT server over the network from a Windows client?
This would allow a user to add to DT no matter which platform he’s working on.

DEVONthink does not have a Windows version, so this would not be conceivable.
If you used an in-browser clipping service on Windows that put its clippings into a cloud service’s folders (e.g., into SkyDrive), you might then share and index that folder in DEVONthink for the Mac. (Yes, this is clunky 
.)
Perhaps I did not express myself clear enough. Sorry for that.
I’m very well aware of the fact there’s no DT for Win. No problem there.
I meant that DT’s server (running on OS X) first needs to be enabled (started).
Since DT is listening on a certain port, it might as well be conceivable that “Clip to DEVONthink” would ‘send’ on a suitable port range over TCP/IP network.
Of course your suggestion (cloud) might also work, even over a network share… or a Dropbox share on a NAS box for that matter.
But we would need the equivalent of “Clip to DEVONthink” for that.
(To me it seems very similar to a Firefox add-on I once used to enable clipping to wordpress)
I’m not a programmer so I am just wondering how complicated this would be, feasible or not…
