there is one database which gives me issues; basically the close database function is not available (greyed out). Also the other functions such as Verify & Repair, Rebuilt etc are greyed out. Cf. screenshot.
Beside this, I do not notice particular issues.
If I close and relaunch DEVONthink, the “Close database” becomes available again. I had a look at the log and I don’t find any “alert”.
Context: MacOS 15.7.2, DT 4.1.1, the database contains only indexed files (from a Synology Drive folder)
I went to Settings → Sync and unchecked the database from the list of databases synchronized via iCloud (CloudKit). The status of that database is now shown as:
“Not yet synchronized, upload database.”
The issue persists: sometimes I am still unable to close the database. For example, yesterday I added some files to this database. After that, I could not close it. I left DEVONthink open overnight, but this morning the database still cannot be closed. The only way to regain the ability to close it is to quit DEVONthink entirely and reopen it.
This does not look like expected behaviour to me. Is there anything I should try ?
For reference, the full Sync settings are shown in the screenshot below.
iCloud - as per my screenshot above
If I understand the settings correctly, at the moment only one database is actually being synchronized.
For the other two databases — including the one that cannot be closed — I unchecked the synchronization a few days ago.
