My tuppence-worth:
I use Time Machine for the hourly backups but I also use Chronosync from Econ Technologies - very affordable. And once purchased, all upgrades are free.
I use Chronosync to do local daily and weekly backups of my Mac, and I also schedule a daily sync of all my DEVONthink databases to Dropbox.
It’s pretty good and saved my bacon a few times - been using it for years.
I’m sure Arq is very good too, but Chronosync doesn’t have its own cloud storage option - it lets you choose your location provided that Chronosync can see it.
