I use to drag to DT a webb adress, but that is often very long gibberish. Is it possible to convert it to a text link ?
Again, please provide more information when asking questions and reporting issues, like where you’re dropping the URL, and what you’re actually seeing. “very long gibberish” isn’t a good description.
Further to @BLUEFROG’s (repeated) advice to you … a Web Address is text.
This request makes no sense. An URL is what it is.
If the website uses what you deem “gibberish”, take it up with the website owner and let them know what you think a “nice” URL shoulder look like.
@engel please read the documentation. You are exploding the forum with things you can figure out on your own.
I am also requesting moderator to delete some of my topics
These are just bookmarks. Nothing unusual.
What are you hoping to have happen?
And note DEVONthink has a web extension (including one for Chrome) so you can clip to a desired format.
See DEVONthink 3 > Install Add-Ons.
I have replaced the link gibberish with text, and the link is still working.
Interesting. … it is what I wanted. As for your suggestion - I will take a look later
What you say does still not make sense. The URL is not gibberish as it’s just an URL.
And with what did you replace what where and how?
Indeed, you can change the name of the bookmark. The URL is stored as a property of the bookmark.
How are you getting the bookmark into DEVONthink? Just dragging and dropping from Chrome? It would appear the web page’s name isn’t being resolved.
As you say, it is drag & drop of the URL to DT.
Web page is not being “resolved” ? I don’t understand
That’s not what @BLUEFROG said: it’s name it’s not resolved. That means, I suppose, the title
element in the HTML document. Some sites don’t define that, so maybe that’s the case when you see an URL instead of something „nice“ in the DT list view.
