When I copy from a pdf in Devonthink and then paste to another doc (google doc, text doc, etc) it just produces red squares, or red squares with question marks. Appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Most likely the text layer of the PDF document is damaged or not supported by the PDFkit framework of macOS. Does it work in Preview.app or with Adobe?
You seem to be right. Same problem with adobe, preview and when I upload it to google docs it comes out as pure gibberish. Can you suggest any way to convert it, grab the text somehow. I don’t feel like spending the rest of my day transcribing…
