Could the global search field be higher-contrast/more-visible?

I can’t see this field.

  • it’s close enough to where windows’ titles appear that I’m blind to it — I don’t look there. Daily Mac use since 1991 has actively trained me not to.
  • it’s too low-contrast. It blends in with its surroundings too much, and doesn’t change enough when clicked or when it has text entered into it. Compare with the location field in Safari, which has more contrast with the surrounding window. (I’m running DEVONthink Pro 3.6.2 on macOS 11.2.1.)
  • all of this repeatedly causes frustration when I can’t find records that should be visible but it turns out that my current view is being filtered by a search term THAT I CAN’T SEE.

Thanks for considering this!

A screenshot of your window would be useful.

How’s this?

As you can see, the search text is visible; the field is perfectly camouflaged.
