Installing a new version of DA removes an already installed CM plugin and installs the new one. As the old CM plugin might be still in use by launched applications, it’s just moved to the trash. But that shouldn’t cause any problems.
However, as all crash reports so far have been related to the WebKit, only Apple can provide the necessary fixes. Disabling Internet plugins and/or Java applets is also a good idea.
DevonAgent Pro keeps crashing, whilst trying to open links inside the results page.

Thank you for the bug report! This is unfortunately an issue of Mac OS X’s WebKit framework which is quite unreliable since version 10.7.4. One workaround might be to disable JavaScript (see Preferences > Web), another one to empty the cache (see application menu) or to run the application in 32-bit mode.
However, the next release will definitely work around this.
