Create new default column view?

Is there a way to update the columns included in a database view, and to save it so becomes the default across all databases? I’d like to add Location and Tags to the default view, and adjust the column width for the file name.

No, DEVONthink remembers the settings for each database (as databases are often quite different).

Each group remembers the view if customized, one possibility is to use the option Preferences > General > Retain view.

Can you use Applescript or Keyboard Maestro to change which columns are shown?

A combination of user interface scripting plus custom shortcuts for View > Columns > … might work but I wouldn’t recommend this - it’s going to be complicated, unreliable and could fail anytime.
