Currency separator

Hi.
I’m playing with DT3 to see if I can use it for my administrative things.

I’ve created a custom field (invoice amount) and set it to decimal number with currency format but the separator is a comma and if I use my numeric pad, the separator is a dot.
Result: if I put for example 76.80, the field transform to 7680,00.

Is there a way to change currency separator in DT3 from comma to dot?

Thanks in advance for your help

That’s probably determined by your system preferences

Thanks chilled for your answer.
In my system preference, number separator is set to dot.
If I choose number format in my custom field, the separator is dot. Only if I choose currency format in my custom field the separator is comma.
So I think it’s DT3 related but cannot find where to change it (if it’s possible)

Afaik, there are separate preferences for numbers and currency. But it may also be a DT issue.

both have dot as separator in system preferences.

Then maybe @BLUEFROG knows how to fix that

  • Is the keypad part of the keyboard or a separate bit of hardware?
    • If the latter, what brand and model?

it’s a part of the keyboard (Logitech mx keys Mac) layout is Swiss French.

I suspect the keyboard or layout involved in this issue.

ok thanks. It’s not a big issue. at this time I use the custom field with number format instead of currency and it use the dot as separator.
I will try with an apple keyboard and English layout to see if it change something.

We’d appreciate it, if you would

tested with an apple keyboard: problem is the same.
If I change system settings as in the screenshot above, it’s ok but DT3 is in English…

So it works when DEVONthink is running in English, but not when it’s in French. Correct?

yes correct
