Database Already In Use Window Appears Upon Star-Up...

Yesterday I upgraded an external 10.5.8 drive to 10.6.4. I am running my iMac from the external drive while I see how things go with software, hardware, etc… Good thing because I am having a problem with DEVONthink…

When DEVONthink Pro starts-up several windows appear with this message:

“Database 'inbox.dtBase 2” seems to be already in use!" (That particular window is confusing because neither of my databases have that name and the database is not in my database folder…)

How do I fix this?

The “in use” message will appear if there has been an attempt to access a database by more than one copy of a DEVONthink application simultaneously, OR if the database had not been properly closed after last access, e.g., as the result of a Force Quit, a forced shutdown of the computer, a System or application crash, etc.

The message might also appear if a database had been copied in the Finder while the database was open (and the copy was opened); note that the copy may be incomplete.

If you confirm that a simultaneous access by two copies of a DEVONthink application isn’t being attempted, go ahead and hit the “Continue” button to open the database(s). It’s advisable to run Tools > Verify & Repair to confirm database integrity.
