Database sort order

Hi,

it seems that databases are sorted differently in the sidebar of DEVONthink Pro Office than in DEVONthink To Go. In the sidebar of DEVONthink Pro Office databases are sorted by the underlying database filename, while in DEVONthink To Go databases are sorted by the database name.

For example, let’s say you create three databases: db1.dtBase2, db2.dtBase2, and db3.dtBase2. These start out with the database names of “db1”, “db2” and “db3”, respectively. Now, let’s say that you rename them (using database properties) to “dog”, “cat” and “parrot”, respectively. That is, db1.dtBase2 is assigned a name of “dog”, db2.dtBase2 is assigned a name of “cat” and db3.dtBase2 is assigned a name of “parrot”.

Now, in the sidebar of DEVONthink Pro Office, the databases will be ordered as:

dog
cat
parrot

… while in DEVONthink To Go, the databases will be ordered as:

cat
dog
parrot

Is there any way to change this behavior? Or am I missing something?

The opened databases in the sidebar are actually sorted by name (not filename) but the order isn’t immediately updated after changing a database’s name. A future release will improve this.
