Databases will not open

I can’t open any of my databases. I can see the Inbox contents when there’s something in there, but in the left panel “Open Databases” is emptyl

I have a new database open, recently filled it with content, which I can see in the middle , but it doesn’t appear in the left panel.

Help; I’m getting more worried by the minute!

Yes, I do have backup, but it’s Backblaze, and not that easy to access. I’m traveling, so don’t have TimeMachine.

Well, somehow they just decided to open. I restarted, but didn’t do anything else to make it happen, so still worry what’s going on.

Any ideas?

Ran Verify & Repair, Check Integrity and Optimize on all databases. Several showed in log: Verified integrity successfully, but 1 or more checksum of files was different. Or, Invalid file integrity checksum is different.

The files seem to be there and don’t appear damaged. What does that mean?

And what should I do?

What version of DEVONthink and macOS are you running?

OS 15.3.2
DTPro 3.9.9

The current version of macOS Sequoia is 15.4 . You should update your machine and stay current with the operating system point releases.

So are you saying my database problem is due to the OS?

I’m saying you should stay up to date with OS point releases.

What kind of file has a bad checksum?

Was anything logged to Window > Log?

Thanks for your efforts to help – I would have responded but for: travel, bad cold, new computer (very nice). And now, what I asked about hasn’t recurred, so moot.
Always appreciate how fast and to the point your responses are, and looking forward to DT4!

OK, new problem. When I try to open DT, a panel opens up; asks for Name/Serial#, but won’t accept it. I can see inside the last file used, but it’s frozen. Rebooted. Nope. Tried redownloading 3.9.10, but didn’t fix the problem. I’m not ready for the 4.0 beta – I’ll let everybody else try it for a while; in the meantime, I’m locked out.

Was an error message shown? A screenshot of the error would be useful.

No error message.

This is not a license code of DEVONthink 3 actually, looks like one of DEVONagent or DEVONthink 2.x. P.S: I removed the screenshot from your reply as this shouldn’t be public.

Thanks for the delete; realized that was probably not a good idea. In any case, I copied the wrong # off my account at DT website. Now put the right serial# in and it accepted it, but is now spinning the wheel and going nowhere. Again, I can see the open db behind the panel, but can’t get in.

Hold the Option key and choose Help > Report bug to start a support ticket.

Do a Spotlight search for Activity Monitor. Select our application in the list of processes - it should show “(Not Responding)” and the name in red - and press Command-Option-S to run a sample on it. When the sample window opens, press the Save button and save it to your Desktop. Please attach this text file to your Support Ticket so we can examine it.

It isn’t red and doesn’t say “Not Responding”. CPU Load says 97% idle. As I said, the database is open, I can see in it, but can’t access it because it won’t allow me to register. I did have an auto-response email to development@devontechnologies pop up with lots of data in it. Do you want me to send it?

For DEVONthink 3.9.10?
And yes, hold the Option key and choose Help > Report bug to start a support ticket.
