Databse files missing

one of my database opens but no files show up — Finder shows the size of the file is 90MB

Did you try to verify the database (see File menu)?

yes i did try that and nothing happened

A successful verification is logged to Windows > Log.

i closed that database and then recovered an old copy of the database from TimeMachine and loaded that -=- all files were there –

then i reopened the original dbase (the one where no files were showing) – then ran a Verify on that one –

The log said ‘successfully verified’ – and then Duplicate Database UUIC (i have both dbases open)

now that i have recovered the old dbase file, there are no problems – but im curious to know if you have any insight into what happened?
