Any chance we could get a default image zoom? This was requested back in 2014, apparently. It would be mighty helpful now…
Different zoom modes can be chosen in Preferences > Media but no default zoom (yet).

Not sure why you say there’s no default zoom though…
A default zoom like 130% for example.
