After several months of problem free use, DevonAgent suddenly can’t get an internet connection. Search doesn’t function and browser “can’t connect to host”. All my other internet based applications/browsers are working fine . What could be wrong and how can I fix the problem? I’m totally mystified. I’m using a Mac with OS 10.3.9.
I haven’t seen this problem, if other apps are able to connect to the Net. I’m assuming you didn’t change the proxy settings in DA Preferences just before the problem started?
How about a reboot and try again?
If that doesn’t work, delete the DA prefs file at /UserHome/Library/Preferences/com.devon-technologies.agent.plist (but don’t delete the DA registration .plist file!). Then relaunch DA.
If that doesn’t work, may be time for disk/System maintenance, starting with permissions repair and Disk First Aid.
