If you show the Open Databases section, going to the Top Group will select the root and you can create a new group.

Yep, that works – thanks. Rearranging the top hierarchy via drag&drop does not work this way (or at least I couldn’t figure out how), but as I understand you this is considered a bug that will be fixed.

Well, I’m reporting it as unexpected behavior but it’s up to Development to assess and decide.

@cgrunenberg : If the Open Databases section is closed, going to the Top Group will either select the Global Inbox (if Inboxes aren’t unified) or it will show the contents of the database’s root but you can’t create a new group.

A screenshot before and after using Top Group would be nice, thanks.
