DevonThink 3.x compatibility with MacOS 26 Tahoe

Thanks again. I should have said that the reason I used the share procedure is because I have never been able to get DEVONthink Sorter to work. I have tried the option of having the Sorter icon in the Doc – but although I choose that option in DEVONthink preferences, it doesn’t happen.

I was able to define a clip to DEVONthink hotkey and it works fine, and faster as you say than the share procedure. I would still like to have the sorter icon in the doc, but I can’t figure out how to do that. But the hotkey approach is great and it will soon be a habit. Thanks so much for your patience with me.

You’re welcome!

By the way, the Sorter has never appeared in the Dock. On the menubar, yes – if set in DEVONthink’s Sorter settings.

But either way, the hotkey method has been unsung for a long time and once you start using it, it becomes second nature soon enough!

Thanks again. I successfully used the hotkey method to save webpages to DEVONthink 3, and am quite comfortable with it. However, today the hotkey method did not work – nothing happened. But the dropdown share in my browser did work. This was the case for two different websites. Something odd is going on.

So the hotkey didn’t work for two sites? Which ones?

Wired Magazine and the New Yorker

Both of which are owned by Conde Nast, so there’s a good chance they use the same infrastructure under the covers.

But it did work for both sites when I used the dropdown menu to share which shows as an option DEVONthink. Everything is the same except that I use share rather than my hotkey. Tried today on several other websites as well – same result.

What did you define as your hotkey? It’s possible for websites to detect certain keypresses.

That was the problem. I had mistakenly redefined the hotkey to one that was not available. I fixed that and now it’s back to normal. Should have thought of that myself. Thanks!

No worries at all
