I have a Web Internet Location kind file that links to www.virginiachronicle.com. That site uses Cloudflare for “Verify you are a human” security verification. Upon checking the box, the Cloudflare spinner displays for a moment and returns to the “verify you are a human” box. Are there settings that I may change in DT4 to proceed to the website, or must I select a different file kind?

This is likely an incompatibility with the version of WebKit in DEVONthink. But no, there are no settings you can change to alleviate this.
Is there setting or key+click combination that will open a link in Safari? I prefer not to change the default to open every link in Safari, only those like the Library of Congress that use Cloudflare.
I know I can use right-click or Control+click then select Open in Safari from the menu, however, I’m looking for a more direct procedure to avoid opening the menu list every time for these specific sites.
If it’s a bookmark file (.webloc) in your database, then Cmd-Shift-O should open it in your default browser. Clicking on the URL in the navigation bar does the same.
The next release will fix the compatibility to CloudFlare.
