I notice that DEVONthink becomes slow with large PDFs (bigger than a few megabytes). It “beachballs” sometimes – especially when I’m highlighting, which is really disruptive to my workflow.
Any chance of getting improvements here?

How large are the PDFs actually (number of bytes & number of pages)? Most likely it’s a bottleneck of macOS’ PDFkit framework when saving the document (e.g. before synchronizing).
It seems to be more about the size than the number of pages; e.g., a ~4.7M PDF with 500 pages doesn’t seem to have much lag, whereas a ~27M PDF with ~500 pages has a lot.
