DEVONthink as picture-database?

At the moment i manage all my text-files (rtf, pdf, html) with DEVONthink and import only a small amount of images, that are closely related to the text-files.
My large (and growing) collection of image-files is at the moment organised in many folders in the Finder. Is it practicable to organise those image-files in DEVONthink, or would you advise me to use a DAM-Software like Portfolio/iViewMediaPro/Cumulus?
Anyone has experience in using DEVONthink as a picture-database?
Will there be better meta-data support in future releases or in DEVONthink Pro?

Thanks, Louise 8)

Louise,

I’ve used iViewMediaPro for years to organize my photos and I have thousands. It’s worked well for me and it’s easy to categorize, preview and even do some minor edits to them right inside the application. Anything major, of course, goes to Photoshop.

I have a feeling you could probably work inside Devonthink, but it wouldn’t be as user-friendly. . .
