DEVONthink Database and Cloud Network Share

Hi Community,
I already know, that saving the DT database on a cloud service like Dropbox is a bad idea.
But is it possible to save the database on my local harddrive and without copying the contents into the database from files of a cloud service?

So, I want to index my files on dropbox using DT without copying the files into the database.

I hope my question is clear?

Greetings

Yes, you can index a Dropbox folder.

That is a common way to create an integration with other apps so files are also indexed in DT.

The files should be downloaded to the local machine, i.e., not stored only online, if you’re going to index them.
