For a to-do list, I use a filtered note list (smart group)
displayed in a gantt timeline view
via an applescript export to a spreadsheet

I would really appreciate to know a bit more how this is done ?

Task notes are tagged with Status, Due-Date
Smart Group filter is Status-Active/Pending or Due-Dated, exclude Status-Completed

How you set due-date , what you use as due date ?

For due date, I use a custom metadata tag;
defined in Devonthink/Setings/Data
