Nearly three years later now, have you found a solution to your problem. I agree that being able to export details to a .ris file would be very helpful and would essentially make Devonthink play nice with essentially every reference manager of note.
My workflow is exactly like yours. I have never had problems with Google Drive. I have 8 k pdfs. The links I created are quite stable.
